[Drug Discovery Center] TCS SP8 Upgrade Notice
The Leica Microsystems TCS SP8 confocal microscope installed in the Drug Discovery Center (Room 504, 5th Floor, Med-Pharm Collaboration Bldg) will undergo an electrical system upgrade.
Dates: February 18–20, 2026
(This period may be extended depending on the work progress.)
The user interface and basic operation will remain the same. However, due to changes in the scanning method, images are expected to appear significantly brighter (up to 2.5× brightness and up to 58% improvement in S/N ratio, according to the specifications).
Please be aware that imaging sequences previously used may lead to signal saturation. Users after the upgrade should adjust laser power and detector settings as needed.
